The Batavia School District 101 board appointed Tara Grady to fill a vacant seat left by a resignation and to serve until the next regular election in April 2027.
Board members said they interviewed a pool of 22 applicants, narrowed candidates and completed deliberations before selecting Grady. Trustees praised the quality of the applicant pool and encouraged others to run in the 2027 election.
Grady, a 22-year Batavia resident who previously served two terms on the Park District board, took the oath of office and introduced herself to the board and community. The appointment passed by roll call vote.
