Proctor City Council approves consent agenda, authorizes LRIP grant application

The Proctor City Council voted Oct. 20 to approve its consent agenda, which included Resolution 35-25 supporting a St. Louis County scrub-seal project on CSAH 11, Resolution 36-25 declaring existing trusses surplus for sale under state statute, a hiring recommendation for a truck driver operator in the street department, and Resolution 37-25 directing city staff to file a Local Road Improvement Program (LRIP) grant application.
Administrator Rich told the council the total project cost is estimated at $1.1 million and said the city could apply for up to $1.5 million. Councilor Benson moved approval of the LRIP application and Councilor Peterson seconded; the council approved the resolution by voice vote.
On Resolution 36-25, which would declare existing trusses surplus and authorize staff to sell them in accordance with state statute, Councilor Benson asked whether ordering new trusses would delay the construction schedule. Administrator Rich said it would not and that construction could begin "probably next week." Councilor Dewalt moved the surplus declaration; Councilor Johnson seconded and the motion passed by voice vote.
On personnel, the hiring committee recommended Jacob Telerico for the truck driver operator position in the street department. Councilor Johnson moved the hiring recommendation, Councilor Benson seconded and the motion passed. Councilors noted five applicants were considered and asked that unsuccessful applicants be notified and that applications be retained per records-retention rules.
