At its March 9 meeting the Browns Valley City Council unanimously approved a slate of routine motions that included minutes, claims, reports, permits and licenses.
The council approved the February 23, 2026 regular meeting minutes and accepted claims totaling $126,587.07 (wages March 2 = $12,118.37; claims March 9 = $114,468.70). The February Treasurer's Report and the February Delinquency Report were also approved. Council approved a fencing permit for 221 4th Street South (applicant William Langdeaux) contingent on meeting applicable guidelines.
Licensing approvals included the annual liquor license for Browns Valley Liquor Store (May 1, 2026–April 30, 2027) and a temporary liquor license for Browns Valley Fire Relief for its April 18, 2026 Fish Fry. The council unanimously accepted an agreement to terminate the farm lease with Jeff Nelson and authorized advertising sealed bids, with bids to be opened March 23, 2026 at 5:30 p.m. The council tabled review of the Code of Ethics and Code of Conduct Policy.
All recorded motions were approved unanimously by the five council members present; the minutes do not show recorded dissent or abstentions.
