Sutlief said statewide testing (MCAs) and ACT results are complete for the term, and he listed upcoming student events including Solo & Ensemble, prom on April 26, and State FFA April 27–29. He reported that Browerville will host next year’s vocal and instrumental Solo & Ensemble on April 1, 2026. He also named Students of Character nominees Dylan Recknor and Kailee Sandbaaken.
On curriculum, Sutlief described changes to meet 2024 statutory requirements (cited in the minutes as Stat. 201.1611). The district is shifting American Government/Civics instruction to grade 12 for the current cohort, making Personal Finance a graduation requirement for this year’s 10th graders, and preparing to distribute voter registration information to students in grades 10–12. Sutlief also outlined plans for summer targeted services and a Title I reading program (dates: June 9–12, July 14–17, Aug. 4–7, 8:00 a.m.–1:00 p.m.), noting the programs will be braided without bus transport and that the district expects reduced participation as a result.
