Browerville school board approves $1.16 million in vendor claims, hires spring coaches and ratifies staff contracts

Motion by Marty Host, second by Gram Bentz, carried to approve vendor claims across multiple funds with the following fund-specific totals recorded in the minutes: General Fund $362,344.75; Food Service $36,922.38; Transportation $1,267.54; Community Service $45,461.79; Capital Expenditure $7,835.10; Building Construction $686,703.02; Insurance Fund $1,053.89; Student Activity $18,680.53; Total $1,160,269.00. The motion to approve the agenda and minutes (moved by Host, seconded by Callahan) also carried earlier in the meeting.
On personnel, the board approved spring coaching hires (baseball coaches: Jason Peterschick, Robert Schueller, Jarid Johnson, Corey Heid, Chris Johnson; softball coaches: Jeff Myers, Mary Irsfeld, Brandon Puck, MerriAnne Werder, Joe Cuchna; track coaches: Rollin Lais, Rebecca Peterson, Ben Evenson, John Peterson). The board approved a 2025-2026 contract with Sonja Toews as a Speech Language Pathologist and a 2025-2027 contract with Cortiney Englemeyer as a Speech Language Pathologist Assistant.
The board appointed Patrick Sutlief as Title Program Coordinator for the 2025-26 school year and approved overnight student travel for State BPA (March 13-15, Minneapolis) and a speech team trip to Moorhead (March 13-15). The board also approved the 2025-2026 nursing agreement with Staples-Motley.
