At the June 1 meeting the Litchfield Planning and Zoning Commission formally appointed S. Macary as the town’s Zoning Enforcement Officer and unanimously approved retaining Nafis and Young Engineers as the commission’s consulting engineering firm for application reviews.
Chairman C. Bramley briefed commissioners on recent meetings with Planner SN Villalba regarding regulation changes required by PA25-1 and other State statutory changes that take effect July 1. Commission members agreed SN Villalba’s recommendations will be discussed at the June 15 meeting. Bramley also noted that the town’s Plan of Conservation and Development (POCD) must be completed by May 2027; the commission will seek assistance from the Northwest Hills Council of Governments (NHCOG) and may revive a previously used roundtable format for stakeholder input.
Commissioners moved and voted unanimously to appoint Nafis and Young Engineers as the commission’s consulting engineering firm; the motion indicated that state statute permits engineering review costs to be charged to applicants when appropriate. Commissioner P. Losee moved to appoint S. Macary as ZEO; M. Eucalitto seconded and the vote was unanimous.
