Commission appoints Steven Macary as ZEO, names Nafis and Young Engineers as consultant

The Litchfield Planning and Zoning Commission formally introduced and appointed Steven Macary as the town's Zoning Enforcement Officer and appointed Nafis and Young Engineers, Inc. as the commission's consulting engineering firm at its June 1 meeting.
Chairman C. Bramley introduced ZEO Steven Macary, who offered a brief bio. The commission then moved to appoint Macary; Commissioner P. Losee moved to approve the appointment, Commissioner M. Eucalitto seconded, and the vote was unanimous.
Under other business the commission discussed a limited July and August meeting schedule, the Plan of Conservation and Development (POCD) update required by May 2027, and recommended scheduling planner attendance and forming a POCD committee. The commission received a contract from Nafis and Young Engineers, Inc. for on-call civil engineering reviews of applications; Commissioner S. Simonin moved to appoint Nafis and Young Engineers as the commission's consulting engineering firm, R. Lupo seconded, and the motion carried unanimously.
The minutes also note the commission will contact the Northwest Hills Council of Governments for POCD assistance and that Attorney Byrne is reviewing pending public hearing items.
