Lost Fox Inn gets approval for 7-foot fence and noise buffer after neighbor complaints

The Litchfield Planning and Zoning Commission voted unanimously on June 1 to approve a site-plan modification allowing a 7-foot fence and additional plantings at the Lost Fox Inn, 571 Torrington Road, intended to mitigate elevated noise levels from outdoor events.
Owners T. Trojian and property manager S. Sikora told the commission that speakers are elevated 3–4 feet above tent floors and that music is monitored to keep levels at or below 55 decibels at the property line. The applicants said the tent exterior will be removed at the end of the season while the interior framing will remain.
Commissioner S. Simonin moved to approve the site-plan modification; M. Eucalitto seconded and the vote was unanimous. Trojian stated site work will be completed in three days.
Commissioners also received correspondence from Attorney D. Casagrande on behalf of 29 neighbors requesting a cease-and-desist on outdoor music events and stricter restrictions. That letter was read into the record; Chairman C. Bramley said the correspondence would be forwarded to Attorney Byrne for comment. Residents T. and C. Murphy were present during the discussion and the petition was made part of the record.
