Planning commission OKs reduced acreage for Coffee Doodle Doo special use permit

The Planning Commission approved an amended special-use permit for the Coffee Doodle Doo business, allowing the owner to reduce the permitted acreage from 9.03 acres to 5.09 acres and to shift parking boundaries to better accommodate patrons.
Owner Christopher Zakarewich told the commission the paintball operation originally included in the prior special-use approval did not succeed and the business is narrowing its footprint to focus on the mobile coffee trailer and interactive farm. “We’re not looking to change our business,” Zakarewich said. “We’re actually reducing our acreage… and we just want to shift our parking boundaries to accommodate more patrons.”
Staff noted the application includes 12 stipulations for continued operation. After brief questions about customer traffic and whether trail users contribute to business, the commission voted 4-0 to approve the special-use permit with the 12 listed stipulations.
The commission’s recommendation will go to the Board of Commissioners on July 14 for any further action; staff will monitor compliance with the adopted stipulations during permitting and inspections.
