Superintendent and principals highlight testing, student activities and planned facility upgrades

At the junior–senior high school, Principal Brian McMahan said the district completed ILEARN testing for grades 6–8 and finished state Biology and Government assessments. McMahan also thanked staff for supporting prom, the high‑school music concert and a career‑readiness day that included employability skill sessions for grades 6–10.
Elementary Principal Alissa Clemons congratulated staff and volunteers for a successful pilot elementary track meet (14 students participated), an upcoming 'Name That Book' competition for grades 3–5, and a large Enrichment Day that offered 26 different sessions including STEM, arts, a petting zoo and a STEM mobile bus from the LaPorte library.
Superintendent Dr. Paige McNulty summarized her first year, thanked staff and the community, and outlined planned facility projects slated for the summer and fall: a new front walkway and canopy, a bus port with solar panels, all new windows, replacement panels, an updated playground, renovated elementary bathrooms and locker rooms, and interior painting in the hallways. She also noted that test scores exceeded the state average and that enrollment is up.
