At a public hearing on Oct. 1 the Minnesota City Council discussed unpaid sewer bills for 2024 and agreed to assess additional fees and add unpaid balances (with those fees) to delinquent homeowners’ 2025 property tax bills if they are not paid by Nov. 1, 2024.
The minutes record the council’s decision to pursue assessment of additional fees and to place remaining delinquent balances on the 2025 property tax roll for affected homeowners. The council also said it will continue to explore alternative payment methods for sewer bills; residents may still mail checks or drop payments off at council meetings.
The minutes do not record a roll-call vote on this fee-assessment decision; the action is recorded as the council’s stated plan following the public hearing. The council set its next regular meeting for Nov. 12, 2024, at 7 p.m.
