Staff said roughly $316,000 of the project is funded through the Maine Department of Transportation’s village partnership program, with the town responsible for the remainder from long‑planned capital reserves.
Several residents and board members raised concerns about specific sidewalk locations near older cemetery plots and the need to confirm alignment behind utility poles so gravesites are not disturbed; staff said the plan shifts the hall entrance and will try to place sidewalks behind poles where possible and maintain required minimum widths for ADA compliance.
Next steps: staff will finalize the contract documents and sign the agreement so construction can proceed; the board asked staff to post project plans and timelines for public review.
