Board refers 103 W High Street residential variance to City Council

Cassidy Blocker brought the request, which concerns residential units below the second floor at 103 W High Street and cites Toledo municipal code chapter 166.08(1)(BD). The city clerk recorded one written comment supporting the request on the condition that applicable building codes be followed and that the building be kept in repair.
Board Chair Dallynn Hotchkiss-McEltree asked Blocker to present the matter to the City Council for its review. Board member Valerie Kaiser moved to refer the request to the next council meeting; Dale Yuska seconded. Roll call was unanimous among members present—Dallynn Hotchkiss-McEltree, Valerie Kaiser, Dale Yuska and Joan Hayward-Helm—and the motion carried. Lance Johanssen was absent.
The minutes record the referral only; they do not show a final determination on the variance, nor do they list any conditions beyond the commenter’s request that codes be followed and the building be maintained. The matter will be considered at the City Council meeting the board identified for follow-up.
