Starmont board approves SBRC requests and $8,000 Hudl subscription; authorizes $210,843 MSA for at-risk program

At its organizational meeting Dec. 8 the Starmont Community School District board voted to authorize district administration to submit a School Budget Review Committee (SBRC) request to claim $110,958 for open-enrollment-out students not included in the prior certified enrollment count. The motion to submit that request carried unanimously.
The board also approved a motion authorizing the district to submit a Modified Supplemental Amount (MSA) and Supplemental Aid request totaling $210,843 to fund the district’s at-risk and dropout prevention program for the 2026–2027 school year. The motion was approved 5-0 as recorded in the minutes.
Separately, the board approved a Hudl subscription in the amount of $8,000 with a $170 credit applied for interrupted service. The Hudl purchase was authorized by a motion from Tony Recker and carried unanimously.
The board reviewed, but took no action on, an agreement with Gothard Consulting LLC related to the School Violence Prevention Program. Superintendent Robert Busch told the board that the School Budget Review Committee hearing date has been moved to March and reminded members of available IASB training resources.
Outcome and next steps: administration is authorized to submit the SBRC and MSA requests; the district will proceed with the Hudl subscription payment and await SBRC review on the funding requests.
