After late agenda posting, Simsbury finance board asks staff to keep more than 10 years of minutes online

Chair Lisa Heavner opened the meeting by apologizing that the agenda had not been posted to the Town website until the day of the meeting and asked Town Manager Marc Nelson to ensure agendas are consistently posted online.
Heavner said she was concerned staff planned to keep only 10 years of minutes on the new website and that currently minutes had to be downloaded rather than viewed in-browser. "She apologized for this oversight and asked the Town Manager to ensure that agendas are consistently posted online," the minutes record. The Board reached consensus to recommend keeping minutes accessible beyond ten years and to enable in-browser viewing so future boards and the public can more easily review historical actions.
The Board also voted unanimously to amend the agenda to add an item to discuss Board input on the new website (motion by Dr. Shivaswamy; second Mr. Wallace). Members said longer online accessibility is practical and necessary so future boards can review prior action.
The Board approved the Dec. 16, 2025 meeting minutes as amended (motion by Mr. Helfand; second by Dr. Shivaswamy). The motion passed with Ms. Heavner, Mr. Helfand and Dr. Shivaswamy in favor and Mr. Wallace recorded as abstaining. The meeting adjourned at 8:48 p.m.
