Council members were briefed on a multi-part estimate for maintenance and repairs at the municipal pool and approved an amendment to a 2024 resolution to award bonuses to student employees who remained through the season.
Greg told the council staff is looking at roughly $225,000 of pool-related repairs for the coming year. That total, he said, includes items such as previously approved work of $67,000, a quoted boiler replacement estimated at $65,000–$70,000, paint work that has risen from about $30,000 historically to roughly $67,000 today, and canopies or walk-pad elements estimated near $10,000. "We're looking at roughly about $225,000 worth of repairs over this next year," Greg said and offered to provide the council with a written breakdown of the estimates.
Separately under new business, council members considered amending a resolution that set a 25-hour minimum for pool staff to qualify for an end-of-season bonus. Because weather reduced hours at the end of the season, very few staff met that threshold. Council approved the amendment so those student employees who remained through the last days of operation are eligible for the bonus; the vote passed on the record.
Council asked staff to bring the detailed cost estimates and to coordinate whether some repairs should be scheduled during the budget process rather than advanced immediately.
