"There are things that are not being done that should be being done," she said, asking commissioners to research statutory and budget implications.
The commission discussed options including a public hearing to separate the office, adding contract hours, interim assistance from the Office of Public Instruction (OPI), and possible effects on salary and benefits, including the statutory 5% supplement tied to combined offices. Commissioners asked Todd to provide a detailed job/responsibility list and to check with OPI about interim coverage.
