Votes at a glance: board approves East High change order, employee handbook and multiple policy updates

The Waterloo Comm School District board approved a set of routine but consequential items, including a construction change order, the employee handbook for 2024–25, and second readings of multiple board policies.

Change order: The board approved Change Order No. 3 for the East High School pool infield project, an additive change of roughly $35,726 to provide labor, materials and equipment to correct the existing roof structure in the project area. Board members described the updates as aligning district policy with model language from the Iowa Association of School Boards and part of the district's routine policy-review cycle.
