Developers of the 67‑lot Bickley Hollow subdivision told the Hobart planning board they remain committed to the project and requested more time to secure infrastructure financing.
The petitioner said the market has warmed and they have dozens of presold homes, that they met with accounting advisors and paid about $156,000 to Baker Tilly as part of the project work. The developer said they will buy the property outright rather than rely on the prior agreement that would deed part of the land to the developer.
Speaking to the board, the developer said, "we're just asking for another extension" and described progress coordinating contractors and financing. Commissioner Marco Rodriguez (economic development) recommended a year but said the review schedules of council and planning could require more time.
After brief discussion about monitoring progress, a board member moved to grant a six‑month extension, the motion was seconded and carried by voice vote. The board did not set additional conditions beyond the usual follow‑up at the extension hearing.
The extension keeps the petition active while the developer advances site preparation and financing; the board will revisit the item at its next scheduled review.
