Underwood council approves parade, event funding and decorations; resident raises trail drainage concern

The council approved city staff putting up Christmas decorations for the Friends of Underwood group and approved the group's final light order and volunteer installer; motions carried unanimously.
During public comment, Keith Rodenburg read a letter he and his mother submitted alleging that construction of the recreation trail altered the natural flow of water around their property. Rodenburg said there have been no damages to the property "at this time," but that they believe the city would be financially responsible for corrective action if damages occur. The council directed staff to get information from the city engineer; no further action was recorded in the minutes.
The meeting also included committee reports and approval of the consent agenda, which listed multiple vendor claims and payroll. The minutes list scheduled claims totaling $39,805.78 and payroll of $21,727.35; the combined claims total recorded in the minutes was $61,533.13.
