The City of New Baltimore Arts & Culture Commission reviewed detailed plans for a Winter Art Market, including sponsorship structure, outreach and logistics. Amanda Melkert and Laurie Huff, representing Art on the Bay, told the commission they "would like to support the Arts and Culture Commission with the Winter Market with whatever guidance the commission needs."
Commission members outlined next steps: finalize a sponsorship framework, issue a call for artists, and target a press release for June 1. The commission discussed applying for a grant from Art on the Bay to defray costs and agreed on a $75 fee per artist table. Members also planned promotional strategies — including having Art on the Bay distribute flyers if additional artists are still needed at their event — and set timing targets: sponsor sign-ups two months before the event and artist registration one month before. The commission discussed programming ideas such as asking a high school band or church choir to provide music and agreed to advertise sponsorships under the label "Patron of the Arts" rather than corporate business sponsorships.
The commission did not take a formal vote on the market plan at this meeting but recorded the items as priorities and noted grant and outreach steps for staff to pursue. The next regular meeting is June 3, 2026.
