Douglas council approves auditing RFP and second reading of property-easement ordinance

The Douglas Mayor and Council approved key items on the May 27 special meeting agenda, including an RFP award for external auditing services on the consent agenda and the second reading of Ordinance No. 26-1233 authorizing the purchase of interests in two parcels and granting a permanent easement to the United States of America.

On the ordinance, Council Member Jose Montaño moved and Council Member Ida Pedrego seconded approval of the second reading of Ordinance No. 26-1233. The ordinance authorizes the city manager to execute documents to purchase interests in real property identified as assessor parcel numbers 408-31-002E and 408-31-002H and to grant an exclusive and permanent easement with the United States of America. The motion passed 6-0.
