At the Feb. 9 meeting, district Teacher Leaders Gayle Ramaeker, Michelle Cray and Liz Carpenter presented to the Lamoni Community School District board about recent curriculum and instructional-improvement efforts.
The presenters highlighted the district’s curriculum adoption and implementation work and described learning completed through the Opportunity Myth review. They said the district is using Instructional Rounds as a collaborative process to observe and improve classroom practice and that the NIET Instructional Framework is being implemented to strengthen instructional quality.
Board members heard the overview as part of the meeting’s presentations; no formal vote was required. The board’s continuing focus on student learning and achievement — discussed later in the meeting in relation to Iowa School Performance Profiles — framed the presentation.
