Lamont council approves FY26 budget amendment, street finance report and other routine measures

Lamont — The Lamont City Council on Wednesday approved a series of routine measures including a FY26 budget amendment and the FY25 Street Finance Report.

Mayor Michael J. Cook called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m. Council members Adams, Lamphier, Lincoln and Slack were present; Devlin was absent. On a motion by Council member Slack, seconded by Council member Lamphier, the council approved the consent agenda covering the September agenda, August minutes, August bills, August receipts and the August treasurer’s report; the motion carried unanimously.

The consent agenda and accompanying payroll and vendor listings report total expenditures of $30,337.16 for August and total receipts of $43,178.23, which included a $10,000 Community Foundation grant and RAGBRAI-related receipts. The council approved payroll and vendor payments as presented.

At the meeting’s public hearing on the FY26 budget amendment, Mayor Cook said no written or oral comments were received. On a motion by Council member Lincoln, seconded by Council member Lamphier, the council adopted the FY26 budget amendment as Resolution 25-17; votes recorded were Slack, Adams, Lamphier and Lincoln in favor.

On a motion by Council member Slack, seconded by Council member Adams, the council approved the FY25 Street Finance Report as Resolution 25-18. Council member Lamphier moved, Council member Lincoln seconded, and the council approved Resolution 25-19, certifying delinquent city service bills for collection via property tax assessment.

The council also approved the membership application of Skyler Jaster to the Lamont Fire Department on a motion by Council member Slack, seconded by Council member Lincoln. The meeting adjourned at 7:51 p.m.
