Lamont council adopts 2026–27 insurance package, approving roughly $36,550 premium

The Lamont City Council on April 1 voted to accept Smith Insurance LLC’s insurance proposal for the town’s coverage period of April 2026 through March 2027, adopting Resolution 26‑13.
Representatives Carrie Thole, Todd Stecklein and Zach Behan of Smith Insurance, LLC reviewed the policy package and told the council the premium is about the same as last year — $36,550.62. The council approved the proposal on a motion by Lincoln and second by Lamphier; the vote was recorded as ayes from Devlin, Adams, Lamphier and Lincoln.
The council did not debate a different carrier or request major changes during the meeting. The resolution authorizes the town to expend funds for the policy; the package will be accounted for in the town’s FY2026–27 budget process.
The resolution was recorded as Resolution 26‑13 and appears in the minutes for the April 1 meeting. No members voted against the measure; Slack was noted as absent.
