MSFA appoints Mary Fox-Stroman as interim executive director

The Minnesota Sports Facilities Authority unanimously voted April 9 to appoint Mary Fox-Stroman as Interim Executive Director after current Executive Director Ed Kroics informed the board his last day will be April 10, 2026. Chair Michael Vekich nominated Fox-Stroman, whom the record identifies as the Authority’s former chief financial officer and a previous interim executive director.

The appointment was moved by Commissioner Sharon Sayles Belton and seconded by Commissioner William McCarthy. A roll-call vote recorded Chair Vekich, Commissioners Laura Bishop, Sayles Belton, McCarthy and Tony Sertich voting “Aye.” The board adopted the following recommended motion as entered in the meeting record and Exhibit A: “I move to appoint Mary Fox-Stroman as Interim Executive Director and to exercise all authority given to the Executive Director at an annual salary of $200,000 during the interim period.”

The action takes effect immediately and is limited to the interim period while the Authority conducts a search for a permanent executive director. The meeting record and Exhibit A state that Fox-Stroman has agreed to serve on an employment basis until a replacement is hired. The record also notes that Kroics’s last day will be April 10, 2026.

The appointment is intended to maintain leadership continuity at U.S. Bank Stadium and within the Minnesota Sports Facilities Authority during the transition. Chair Michael Vekich thanked Kroics for his contributions to the Authority and the stadium in the meeting’s opening remarks. The board scheduled its next regular meeting for Thursday, April 16, 2026, in the MSFA Board Room at U.S. Bank Stadium.
