Chair Michael Vekich called the Minnesota Sports Facilities Authority meeting to order at 8:00 a.m. on Jan. 15, 2026, at U.S. Bank Stadium.
The board unanimously approved and adopted the minutes of Dec. 18, 2025 and Dec. 23, 2025 following a roll-call vote. Commissioner William McCarthy moved to approve the minutes and Commissioner Sharon Sayles Belton seconded; the vote was recorded as unanimous.
Chair Vekich opened nominations for 2026 officers. With no contested nominations, the board unanimously appointed Commissioner Laura Bishop as Vice Chair and Commissioner Sharon Sayles Belton as Secretary/Treasurer. The Chair asked three times for additional nominations before each uncontested election, and each appointment was approved by roll call.
The meeting included a bundled operations update for U.S. Bank Stadium. Shannon Kelly, General Manager at U.S. Bank Stadium, provided an update on recent stadium events. Jenifer Freeman, Aramark District Manager, briefed the board on the food and beverage program. Lester Bagley, Executive Vice President for Public Affairs with the Minnesota Vikings, commented on recent team-related events and their relationship to stadium operations.
There were no public comments recorded during the public comment period. Chair Vekich asked Amos Briggs of the law firm Lockridge, Grindal, Nauen to provide a legislative update. The board was reminded that the next regular meeting will be Thursday, Feb. 19, 2026, at U.S. Bank Stadium.
The meeting adjourned at 8:49 a.m.
