Minnesota City Council approves 2025 appointees, three $500 donations and online sewer payments

At its Jan. 7 meeting, the Minnesota City Council unanimously approved a package of routine business and administrative actions, including three $500 donations, the 2025 slate of city appointees and the addition of Stripe.com to the city website to accept sewer bill payments.
Mayor Kelvin Penrod opened the meeting at 7:01 p.m. and the council moved quickly through routine motions. A motion by Hollis Donehower, seconded by Emily Conners, approved the Dec. 10, 2024 minutes. Joe Pellowski moved and Angie Bohnstengel seconded acceptance of the December Treasurer’s Report; council also approved payment of the itemized disbursements totaling $5,366.18, including a $1,595.00 contract payment to People Service Inc. for the wastewater plant and multiple Xcel Energy utility charges.
On a motion by Joe Pellowski, seconded by Emily Conners, the council approved donating $500 each to Minnesota City First Responders, Oakland Cemetery and the Minnesota City Historical Association. In separate motions (moved by Joe Pellowski and seconded by Angie Bohnstengel for appointees; moved by Joe Pellowski and seconded by Emily Conners for online payments), the council approved the 2025 appointees as presented and authorized the city to implement Stripe.com through the municipal website to accept sewer bill payments. Amanda Benter will add 2025 meeting dates and a link to the Minnesota City Historical Association on the city website.
All recorded motions were approved by those present. The council adjourned at 8:48 p.m.; its next meeting is scheduled for Feb. 4, 2025 at 7:00 p.m. at City Hall.
