Southampton adopts salary-range ordinance, advances salt-storage rules; committee approves road contract and solar-farm permit

Committeeman William Raftery moved to adopt Ordinance 2024-15; Committeewoman Elizabeth Rossell seconded. Mayor Michael Mikulski opened the public hearing and, with no members of the public wishing to speak, the ordinance was adopted by roll call: Mikulski, Deputy Mayor Ronald Heston, Raftery, Rossell and Committeeman James Young voted in the affirmative.
Rossell moved the first reading of Ordinance 2024-16 (adding code 21-6B et. al. regarding salt storage); Deputy Mayor Heston seconded. The committee approved the ordinance for first reading by unanimous roll call and scheduled it for subsequent public hearing and second reading.
The committee approved its consent agenda — Resolutions 2024-98 through 2024-104 — in a single motion. The items on the consent agenda included multiple tax-collector adjustments, a budget insertion pursuant to N.J.S.A. 40A:4-87, and Resolution 2024-103, awarding a contract for the reconstruction of Retreat Road Phase III. Resolution 2024-104 authorized a road-opening permit for BEMS Southampton Solar Farm, LLC. Committeeman Raftery moved to approve the consent agenda; Committeewoman Rossell seconded; the roll-call vote was unanimous.
