Regina Mahony, CCRPC planning manager, briefed the committee on two Act 250 items on Feb. 3. On The Burton Corporation project, staff conducted a second review of a public comment letter after concerns were raised at the Board meeting and found no inaccuracies; Mahony said CCRPC finds the proposal in conformance with the Planning Areas of the 2018 Chittenden County ECOS Plan and will follow up with neighbors and consult South Burlington and Burlington before sending the final letter.
Mahony then summarized an Act 250 amendment for Cambrian Rise (311–375 North Ave., Burlington), where the applicant proposes increasing the maximum number of housing units from 739 to 770. CCRPC staff reviewed prior traffic memoranda and concluded the memo’s minor increase in trip generation raises no new traffic concerns. John Zicconi moved and Andy Montroll seconded approval of the letter to Rachel Lomonaco (District #4 coordinator); the motion carried unanimously.
Regina Mahony said CCRPC will continue to comment as more information becomes available and will coordinate with municipal partners on mitigation and pedestrian connections in the area.
