City approves payment for wastewater regionalization project; pump testing to begin Oct. 22

The Foley City Council approved Pay Estimate No. 22 for the wastewater regionalization project in the amount of $6,325, a sum the city engineer said represents about 95% of the total contract.
City engineer Jared Griffith told the council the contractor is completing programming controls and punch-list items and that "they are anticipating the week of October 21st, more likely October 22nd, starting some pump running and testing," with the aim of having systems running by the end of the month.
Griffith said the team is waiting on a couple of parts for the St. Cloud end of the system but that work has proceeded promptly once parts arrive. Council members asked about the project schedule and whether earlier change orders affected the timeline; Griffith said parts-driven delays were the principal remaining issue and that staff would continue to press the contractor for timely completion.
On a motion and voice vote, the council approved the payment request. The council did not record individual roll-call vote names on the record; the motion carried by voice vote.
