Plan Commission approves minutes, three hangar reviews, Metal Tech final plan and Farm & Fleet pet‑wash kiosk

The Waukesha City Plan Commission took several unanimous votes on July 24.

The commission approved the minutes of June 26, 2024. Three minor site plans and architectural reviews for airplane hangars at 2325 Aviation Drive, 612 Northview Road and 614 Northview Road were placed on the consent agenda and approved without removal.

Staff presented a final site plan and architectural review for Metal Tech (905 East Saint Paul Avenue) that would demolish an older building and replace it with a new ~3,570‑square‑foot single‑story product testing building. Robin (staff) reviewed siting and design details and recommended approval subject to addressing engineering, fire department and water utility comments and including an engineering concurrence letter with the building permit application. The commission voted unanimously to approve the final site plan and architecture review.

The commission also approved a minor site plan and architectural review for a standalone Farm & Fleet pet‑wash kiosk in the parking lot at 2310 Cassell Road. Charlie (staff) said the ~130 sq. ft. unit will be sited on a concrete pad, connect to the store’s water and sanitary laterals (with a hair filter to prevent debris entering the city sewer), and will be heated for year‑round use. Jason Lohman, a Blaine Supply project manager for the kiosk, said the unit will include video cameras and the developer intends to implement the 2023 approved landscape plan as construction finishes. Staff recommended and the commission approved the project with conditions that engineering and water utility comments be addressed and that the landscape island be planted to match the approved plan.

All motions passed unanimously.
