New dog park, Energizing Eve nonprofit and arena needs highlighted at town hall

"Our goal is that you can go in there with your dog October 11th and feel confident that it is complete," Acting Mayor Matt Rowan said.
Rowan credited a newly formed nonprofit called Energizing Eve with donating funds for a shelter structure at the dog park and said the group will pursue additional community projects. "Energizing Eve raised money for a structure to be put up...this is kind of their first project to get their word out," he said.
On arena infrastructure, Rowan said the ice facility's dehumidifier is quoted at about $1.3 million and the city has identified roughly $350,000 toward that cost; additional funding sources remain to be secured. "It is one of those projects that we have acquired roughly $350,000 for," he said, adding the city wants to keep the Wilderness hockey team participating locally.
Other neighborhood and placemaking items discussed included decorative benches donated by local masons, downtown placemaking tied to hockey themes and concerns about preserving a flowering crab tree planted in honor of a local coach.
