Board approves 2.4% insurance change, vendor switch and near‑site clinic pilot; staff raises included
Summary
The Random Lake board approved switching insurance administration to Amps and a 2.4% premium increase. The plan includes a near‑site clinic pilot (administration cited an ~$84,000 cost) intended to reduce out‑of‑pocket costs for employees; administrators said the move also enables broad staff raises.

At the June 22 meeting the board approved changes to the district’s employee health plan that administration characterized as a limited 2.4% premium increase and a vendor/administrator change from Marpai to Amps.
Administrators reported operational problems earlier in the year under Marpai — delayed explanation‑of‑benefits processing and administrative disruption — and said the district selected Amps to improve claims administration. "We're firing Marpai and we're replacing them with the health plan," a district administrator said, adding that Amps offers a more reliable process.
The insurance package presented to the board includes a near‑site clinic pilot intended to lower out‑of‑pocket costs for staff and their families. Administration described the clinic cost for the district as about $84,000 and said the program would allow employees to use participating clinics for primary‑care and many minor procedures at little or no charge. Administrators said the district is partnering with regional providers and other nearby districts to expand clinic access.
Administrators also said the change allows modest staff pay increases; the board referenced a 2.63% increase proposed for hourly and salaried staff elsewhere in the meeting. During the discussion a presenter said family contribution estimates for the coming year would change and cited the number "177" in the exchange; the precise payment frequency and final employee contribution schedule will be confirmed in benefit documents.
The board approved the insurance changes by voice vote. Administration said more details on clinic access, copays and provider networks will be distributed to staff once contracts are finalized.
