Porter County elections staff reports smooth BSTOP audit, warns of polling-place change

Porter County election staff reported on June 25 that a BSTOP audit and ballot-count reconciliation went smoothly and that officials expect official results to be posted on June 26. Staff told the Election Board the reconciliation team completed audits in record time and reported 99% confidence in audited contests.
"It went incredibly smooth," a staff member said, adding that a press release announcing official results would be issued the following day. The board congratulated election staff for the quick reconciliation and thanked staff members who served on the audit team.
Staff also advised the board that one polling location change will be needed: Faith Lutheran Church has voted to discontinue hosting a polling site after the 2026 election. Board members asked staff to identify alternative sites in that neighborhood ahead of the general election.
Finally, staff announced outreach and training dates: the next election-board meeting is July 23, the Porter County Fair runs July 23–August 1 where the elections office will staff a booth and demonstrate voting machines, and the IVRA conference is scheduled for Aug. 18–19 at the Blue Chip in Michigan City.
The board did not take controversial policy action on these items; staff asked the board to note the audit results and proceed with outreach planning and locating a replacement polling site for the affected precinct.
