Alcoholic Beverage Board approves transfer of American Legion Post 468 permit; inspection scheduled

The Alcoholic Beverage Board of Adams County approved the transfer of a permit for American Legion Post 468 at its Dec. 23, 2025 meeting, and staff discussed inspection timing and operational restrictions during the move.
Board members and staff reviewed the application initially recorded as a new permit and determined it should be processed as a transfer of location. Staff indicated the printed application may be a misprint and confirmed the item would be handled as a transfer. A final inspection was arranged to be completed the same day.
Staff advised that the state panel meets Jan. 6, 2026, so “the earliest that the new location would be able to be active would probably be later the 6th or on the 7th,” giving the applicants time to move. Staff also warned, “They cannot have any alcohol over here once this new permit,” clarifying that once the transferred permit is activated there must be no alcohol at the old site.
Pete Brown moved to approve the transfer; Toby Springer seconded. The board voted in favor and the transfer was approved. Staff collected required documentation from the applicants and indicated they would complete inspection and follow state activation steps before the permit becomes active at the new location.
