The appropriation, presented by the Board of Finance and moved for consideration by Tim Farrell, was adopted by paper ballot, with 50 votes in favor and 14 against. The budget was described in the motion as intended to defray expenses of the Town and the Board of Education for the fiscal year commencing July 1, 2026.
At the start of the meeting, Adam Silverman moved and Ed Mone seconded a motion to elect Cathy DuPont as recording secretary of the meeting; the motion passed. Later, George Seabourne moved and Julie Ingham seconded a motion to elect First Selectman Rich Sileo as moderator of the meeting; that motion also passed.
According to the meeting record, Luke Freimuth called to move the budget item to a vote; the vote was conducted by paper ballot and recorded as 50 YES and 14 NO. After the budget vote, George Seabourne moved to adjourn, seconded by Julie Ingham, and the meeting was adjourned.
The appropriation takes effect for the fiscal year beginning July 1, 2026. The meeting minutes were attested by Cathy DuPont on May 4, 2026.
