The Sigourney City Council on Oct. 1 approved its consent agenda, which included the minutes of the Sept. 16 meeting; the September 2025 library claims; Resolution 2025-10-29 proclaiming Halloween Trick-or-Treat night; alcohol licenses for Keokuk County Economic Development, Goldman Enterprises and Elliott Oil Company; the Midwest Group Benefits quarterly payment; designation of the Sigourney News Review as the city’s official newspaper; the Credit Card Report; and setting the Oct. 15, 2025 council meeting at 6 p.m. at City Hall.
Separately, Council member Clark moved and Council member Conrad seconded approval of Council Account Payable Claims totaling $25,919.40. The roll-call vote recorded Ayes from Schultz, Clark, Conrad, McLaughlin and Iosbaker; Council member Lentz abstained and the motion was approved. The abstention was noted in the record as due to Lentz’s brother owning Atwood Electric.
