At its June 18 meeting, the Southeast Town Board approved several routine resolutions and one notable planning designation.
The board passed performance‑bond resolutions on recommendations from the planning board and town engineer: Bevacore LLC (Fields Lane) — site improvements bond $751,500; sediment and erosion control $21,400; Laborers International Local 60 (Independent Way) — site improvements $388,600; sediment and erosion control $48,500; and a NICE communication tower replacement at Hillside Park — site improvements $55,434; sediment/erosion control $3,600; tower removal/restoration $327,000. A board member recused from the NICE tower vote because the property lies within 600 feet of their residence.
The board also voted to designate the N Jam/New York Land LLC subdivision area as an open development area under Town Law section 280‑a, allowing the planning board to proceed with review subject to conditions (no more than four residential lots, common‑driveway agreements, recorded easements for emergency access and other enumerated requirements). Roll‑call votes were recorded: Councilman Cypress Yes; Councilman Larka Abstained (recusal noted); Councilwoman Lewis Absent; Councilman Mazada Yes; Supervisor Castellano Yes.
Separately, the board adopted Local Law No. 5 of 2026, adding Chapter 73 to the town code to regulate filming; the law’s fee schedule will be set later through the town’s fee amendments.
Most of the bond and local‑law items were presented as planning‑board referrals and were approved without further public hearings at this meeting. The town clerk was directed to transmit certified copies of adopted resolutions to planning and building staff as required.
