Robbins trustees approve $22,737.50 warrant list, OK Trunk-or-Treat street closure and defer truck contract

ROBBINS, Ill. — The Village of Robbins Board of Trustees on Oct. 26 approved a $22,737.50 warrant list, accepted the treasurer's financial report and authorized a temporary street closure for a Halloween "Trunk or Treat" event while postponing a truck-transport contract for further review.
Trustee Tiffany S. Robinson moved to accept the warrant list; Trustee Michael Collier Sr. seconded. The roll-call vote was 5–0 in favor with Trustee George Brewton absent. The board similarly accepted the treasurer's report after staff presented fund balances: the general fund ended the period at $211,380.72 and the water/sewer fund had an ending balance of $114,501.61. Clerk Sharon S. Dyson reported $1,525.00 in transfer-fee stamp receipts for 19 stamps.
The board approved a street closure for Trunk or Treat on Oct. 31 from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. (route: south on Spaulding, corner of 137th & Spaulding to the police station at 3323 W. 137th St.). Mayor Darren E. Bryant said the village should consider amending its fee policy to waive some charges for community-oriented events.
Trustee Robinson moved to defer consideration of Tishama Truck Transport LLC until the next meeting when a representative would be present; Trustee Gregory N. Jackson seconded and the motion carried 5–0 (Brewton absent). The board also approved routine minutes for Oct. 5 and voted to defer approval of the Oct. 4 minutes until the next regular meeting.
Trustee Robinson reported standing-committee work including recent camera installations and upcoming ordinance discussions. "Flock cameras have been installed and the last camera will be installed tomorrow on 135th and Central Park," she said, and monitoring checkpoints are planned at 15, 30 and 60 days.
The board announced a special, public meeting to begin work on a recently awarded Community Development Block Grant (CBDG) bid; the mayor said the special meeting will be held Saturday at 11:00 a.m. The meeting adjourned at 9:12 p.m.
