Badger council approves budget transfers, final contractor payment and 2025 appointments

The City of Badger council approved several routine financial and administrative items during its Jan. 15, 2025 meeting, including an internal transfer to the Fire Department, final contractor payment, and the 2025 organizational appointments.
Council member C. Christianson moved and A. Gregerson seconded approval of an internal transfer of $30,238 from the general fund to the Fire Department fund; the motion passed by unanimous consent. The council also approved Spruce Valley Pay Application #3 (final) in the amount of $27,939.80 on a motion by A. Gregerson, seconded by G. Lee.
On reorganization, the council approved the 2025 Council organization, setting the official depository as Border Bank and naming commissioners and officers: Park Commissioner and Street Commissioner C. Christianson; Solid Waste Commissioner and Fire Commissioner R. Dostal (not present at the meeting); Police Commissioner A. Gregerson; Acting Mayor G. Lee; Cemetery Sexton C. Walsh; and insurance agent Mark Thune. The council also adopted the new IRS mileage reimbursement rate of $.70 per mile.
Clerk Swenson presented the audit engagement letter from Hoffman, Phillip, Martell for the 2024 audit, which the council received and noted the audit will be completed in spring 2025. Council member C. Christianson reviewed Northwest Regional Board nomination materials and the council declined to nominate anyone at this time.
The council handled these items by unanimous consent and directed staff to process the approved transfers and payments.
