Staff outlined that renting barricades from a staging company would include deployment and a 3–4 day process and that government contract pricing reduced initial rental estimates. Council debated staging, parking loss for businesses, crew availability and timing for deployment; after the amendment passed unanimously, the original motion (as amended) passed on a 5–1 vote. Staff said they will conduct additional logistics planning with businesses, Police and Public Works.
