Mayor Robert J. Lovero announced his veto of an ordinance described in the agenda as "An ordinance repealing and replacing chapter 466, bicycles, and amending sections 462.02 and 462.07 regarding vehicle licensing in the city of Berwyn, County of Cook, State of Illinois." He invited a motion to either attempt to overturn the veto or to refer the communication for further review.
A motion to concur with the mayor and refer the communication to legal, engineering and the Committee of the Whole was made by Alderman Pace, seconded by Alderman Ligas, and approved by voice vote. The council did not vote to overturn the mayor's veto on the floor; instead it directed staff and committees to examine the ordinance and related technical issues.
