The Wauwatosa School Board on June 22 approved two administrative contracts, appointing Lashonda Holland as principal of Whitman Middle School and Patrick Larson as associate principal of Longfellow Middle School.
Human resources presented the first recommendation, saying the Whitman selection followed a “rigorous selection process” and that Holland connected with families and staff during interviews. The board approved a 2026–28 administrative contract for Lashonda Holland, effective July 1, 2026, for 229 days per year at an annual salary of $135,000. The board recorded one abstention during the roll-call vote; all other voting members present voted to approve the contract.
The board then approved the second HR recommendation to hire Patrick Larson as associate principal at Longfellow, effective July 1, 2026, for 221 days per year at an annual salary of $97,000. Larson, who has served Longfellow as a teacher and dean of students, thanked the board in brief remarks after the vote: “I appreciate being here. I appreciate you approving me going through — I’m really excited for the opportunity,” he said.
Both hires were presented as recommendations from human resources and approved by motions made and seconded on the floor. The approvals were recorded by roll call.
The board did not discuss amendments to either contract during the meeting. The appointments take effect July 1, 2026.
