County commissioner briefs Waterville council on Comprehensive Plan and highway projects

County Commissioner David Priesler updated the Waterville City Council on county-level planning and transportation matters. He said the final draft of the County Comprehensive Plan is available for public review on the County website with comment opportunities through the end of May and that final county action is expected in early June. Priesler urged alignment between city and county plans and noted ordinance rewrites planned over the coming months.
On transportation, he reported that MN DOT will start work on a roundabout at Hwy 99 & Hwy 13 in the first week of June with detours and that the planned Hwy 13 reconstruction was re-scoped to a grind-and-overlay maintenance project whose timeline moved forward to July 1, 2028. He also said summer county projects have consistently come in under engineer estimates.
