At her final board meeting on June 22, Superintendent Ruby Bod received tributes from board members and the community for her years of service to the Estes Park School District R-3.
Board members offered personal remarks and presented gifts while thanking Ruby for leadership, culture change and contributions to student and staff success. Ruby responded with gratitude and said she would read the messages staff and community had collected for her at a later time.
Ruby also introduced David (Dave) Grubs to the board as the district’s next superintendent. She said he will officially begin serving the district on July 1. Administrative policy updates reviewed later in the meeting change the designated compliance officer name in multiple policies from Ruby Bod to David Grubs effective July 1.
The recognition proceeded before the board adjourned; members said they would formally honor Ruby again later in the meeting packet and that staff would notify employees about the leadership transition and policy updates.
