At the July 8 meeting the Caledonia City Council approved the June 24, 2024 meeting minutes with a correction to the roll call and then approved the consent agenda, which included regular payments and disbursements, an employment agreement with the Police Chief, and the hire of a part-time police officer.
Member Robert “Bob” Klug moved to approve the minutes, and Member Amanda Ninneman seconded; the motion passed 4-0. During the consent agenda discussion Klug asked clarifying questions about the Police Chief employment agreement and the background and terms of the part-time officer hire. City Clerk/Administrator Jake Dickson explained that the Police Chief employment agreement had been missed previously and provided the requested background. Member Klug then moved to approve the consent agenda; Member Ryan Stenzel seconded, and the consent agenda passed 4-0.
The meeting minutes and consent items were approved as presented; no individual amendments or separate roll-call votes on the police hires were recorded beyond the consent vote. The council adjourned at 6:37 p.m.
