Buhl to hold public sessions on water-tower options after structural review

The Buhl City Council on Aug. 8 heard that a final structural analysis of the elevated water storage tank suggests the existing support system could provide another 40–50 years of service if identified remediation and ongoing maintenance occur.
Administrator Tony Jeffries recommended the city hold public sessions in late September and October to present options and gather input; staff plans to prepare bidding documents in November and pursue vendor selection in December 2024. Jeffries said a working storage volume of 300,000 gallons is being used for planning, and that an emergency generator and transfer pumps will be needed to reliably operate the system at that capacity.
Councilors also received brief updates on the Buhl Business Block preliminary plat (final-plat work to follow) and the Community Center rental-policy guidance that staff will prepare for users of the curling club facility.
