The Browns Valley City Council unanimously approved its consent agenda on Feb. 9, 2026, including approval of the Jan. 26 meeting minutes, claims totaling $55,563.68, the January treasurer's report, and the January delinquency report. The meeting was called to order by Acting Mayor Jan Biewer at 5:30 p.m. in the Browns Valley Public Library meeting room.
Council Member Devan Dobbs moved and Jerry Johnson seconded approval of the claims package totaling $55,563.68; the minutes record payroll/wages of $12,970.07 for the Feb. 2 pay period and claims of $42,593.61 dated Feb. 9. The motion carried unanimously. Council Member Tony Miller moved, seconded by Devan Dobbs, to approve the January delinquency report and the treasurer's report was approved following a motion by Jerry Johnson, seconded by Tony Miller; both motions were approved unanimously.
On a separate motion, the council unanimously approved renewal of the city's certificate of deposit at Prairie Sun Bank at an interest rate of 3.00 percent; the motion was moved by Devan Dobbs and seconded by Jerry Johnson. The minutes do not record further discussion about alternatives, the CD term length, or the account balance being renewed.
Council noted upcoming dates including a city office closure for Presidents Day on Feb. 16 and an EDA meeting scheduled for Feb. 16 at 5:30 p.m. The council adjourned at 6:16 p.m.; its next regular meeting is scheduled for Feb. 23, 2026.
