Browerville board approves hire, driver training fees, trips and calendar change

The board voted to hire Alexis Reimers as a paraprofessional pending successful background checks (motion by Keith Noska, second by Jodi Hillmer). It also approved the behind-the-wheel instructor pay for 2025 at $33.50 per hour and set student fees: resident/full-time Browerville High School students $250, extra hours $50 per hour, nonresident students $400 and extra nonresident hours $60 per hour (motion by Marty Host, second by Kelly Callahan).
The board approved an overnight camping trip to Camp Confidence, Feb. 26-28, and granted the speech team permission to attend a national speech tournament Feb. 13-18. The board also approved a calendar change to allow an early dismissal at 12:30 p.m. on April 4 and set the 2025 organizational meeting for Jan. 13 at 6:00 p.m. The meeting was adjourned at 7:20 p.m.
Principal Patrick Sutlief reported the National Honor Society fundraiser raised over $600 and reminded the board of winter concerts; Activities Director Ribsy Petermeier said winter sports are under way with two home basketball games this week.
